Books from Bienal: Asylum

I started reading this booklet at the end of 2015, before eurotrip, and just finished now because my priority list took another turn (wich means that I decided to read another book before it: p) It was a fine book. Caught my interest with that line of "mysterious mystery" in which the reader knows nothing from beginning to the almost end. Every time it seems that something important has been revealed ... simply appears another inexplicable thing and we returned to the "know nothing" status xD The story is quite simple which provides a very quick read. At the same time, I think to much predictable the dialogues and the development of the story. I admit that i was not expecting the way it ended. I dont know... it just didnt feel like an end... I dont know if its my moment of life or something but I just did not like the lack of explanations to all the misterys. And its not a problem of that mistery book - aparently all of mystery books that i have read recently are enormous, a lot of crazy things happening and nothing being explain. All that expectation that in the end everything will be clear. But dont. Suddenly, its the end of the book. The protagonist says "eureka", give a crap explanation taken from nowhere and its it.  

And the awful truth is that i always think that i must have missed something before. Than, i came back some pages, read all again, to discorver that: yeah, it was only that. 

Cant understand HOW people sell books (i said bookS) with that kind of.... disengagement with the lector and even with the story. (ok, i finished complaining about that...i know i'm getting boring)
Besides that little things i told, I still recommend the book for those who like some mistery and do not bother with teenage theme backgrounds.

Comecei a ler esse livrinho no fim de 2015 antes da eurotrip e só terminei agora pq q lista de prioridades tomou outro rumo (vulgo, resolvi ler outro livro antes :p )

Esse livro é bonzinho. Captou meu interesse com aquela linha de "mistério misterioso" em que o leitor não sabe nada do início até o quase fim e toda vez que parece que algo importante foi revelado....surge mais alguma coisa inexplicável e ninguém sabe mais nada xD

A narração é bem simples o que proporciona uma leitura muito rápida. Ao mesmo tempo acho os diálogos bem previsíveis e até o desenvolver da história acabou sendo um pouquinho clichê.

O que eu não gostei foi a sensação de falta de explicações. Na verdade anda acontecendo isso diretoooo! A maior parte dos livros de mistério enrolam mil páginas e subtamente acaba com uma solução/explicação mal feita ou que brota do nada. Ninguém discute o que aconteceu e vc fica, no mínimo, com a sensação de que comeu mosca ou algo assim.

O chato é que eu não gosto desse feeling. Ae eu volto para ler de novo para verificar se eu realmente perdi algo ou se realmente a história ficou corrida/jogada eee... Normalmente tem sido a segunda opção. Não entendooo pq esses finais assim...corridos ou jogados.

No mais, eu recomendo o livro para aqueles que gostam de um misteriozinho e não se incomodam com a temática adolescente. :)

Books: Career of evil

First book I read in 2016 and I have to admit that we are starting well this year!

The book "Career of Evil", to be published in Brazil in April with the name "Vocação para o mal," is the third book of the Cormoran Strike series, which is signed by Robert Galbraith, JK Rowling pseudonym, famous author by Harry Potter series and the book The Casual Vacancy. 

The first book in the series is "The Cuckoo's Calling" and the second is "The silkworm" (Silkworm) - I have a post that i comment Silworm and if you want to read click here.

For those who are unaware of the series, the stories take place in London and is to focus in the private investigator and the cases that the local police can not solve.

In fact, Cormoran Strike is an "anti hero", since he lost his leg while working at the police and his business is about to bankruptcy. Everything changes when Robin Elacott is sent, by mistake, to work in his office and and helps him to solve the cases.

The mysteries are ALWAYS violent, using "bad language" and have some background discussions of controversial issues. I love this combination because it gives the sensation of reality - the story is fictitious but could quietly be real!

About the story: the narrative begins with an unexpected delivery to private detective Cormoran Strike office. A package containing a severed leg was forwarded to Robin. There sender and the delivery man was wearing a helmet.

    Not only that the scare, several questions bubble "who" and "why" someone have sent a severed leg to Robin.

   The police are investigating, newspapers are on top of the office, customers begin to fade suspicious of the situation disclosed and professional relationship between Cormoran and Robin is being tested. The personal lives of the characters this one caus.

    To find out how the story ends just reading the book ^^ hehe

What's better: The narrative of this book has changed from previous books - and I think it was for the best. In fact, I think this was the best book in the series and, considering I really enjoyed all the books, this kind of statement means a lot.

     The reason to consider it the best of them is related to the increased focus that is given to personal matters about Cormoran as Robin. There is much talk about what they lived in the past - because the case that they investigate in the book involves both of them- and also about the problems they are living nowadays.

     I think that change approach the reader since we know about the feelings and thoughts of the characters in the various adverse circumstances that take place throughout history. This involved me a lot more in the story 'cause, was not only for justice (seeking to punish the offender) but there was also the will of the characters solve their problems and be happy - here the reader feel as if were friend of the characters xD 

The mistery case: it was very interesting the development of the case and I admit that I was repeatedly questioned about what would be the outcome and how to get out of the alleys that research ends up stagnating. The frustration of the characters turned my frustration hahahhaha

      It was a amazing job making that situation in the book. All the information was provided to make IMPOSSIBLE identify the killer - all the tracks let you feel confused. 

What I did not liked: Mystery solution was VERY a la "mysteries Scooby Doo" - in which Velma sprang from nothing to the resolution of the case. I felt i little bit fustrated because i only understood what happened when i returned to previous pages and read it all again. 

      Since i dont want to spoiler, I will not develop it but I can not help but make the criticism that could have been a better way to make the reader know how Cormoran did to get in case solved. The way it was, everything got a little loose. I cannot conect his discovered to anything that happened in that moment of the story. 

Well, that's it. 

If you have not read the previous books in the series but was in the mood to read this one, it's possible since the cases are independent. Although, to a full comprehension of the story i recommend that you read the book in publish order.

To concluded this post, I strongly RECOMMENDED that book and Cormoran Strike series for those who love a murder mystery! (i little bloody, hein xD)

Livro: Vocação para o mal (Career of evil)

Primeiro livro que terminei de ler no ano novo e tenho que admitir que estamos começando bem 2016.

O livro "Career of evil", que será publicado no Brasil em Abril com o nome "Vocação para o mal", é o terceiro livro da série Cormoran Strike, que é assinado por Robert Galbraith, pseudônimo de J.K.Rowling, autora famosa pela série de livros Harry Potter e o livro Morte Súbita.

Os primeiros livros da série são: " O chamado cuco" (The Cuckoo's Calling) e "O bicho da seda" (Silkworm) - este último eu fiz a crítica aqui, se você quiser ler clique aqui.  

Para aqueles que desconhecem a série, as histórias se passam em Londres e tem por foco a atuação do detetive particular em casos que a policia local não consegue resolver.

Em verdade, o Cormoran é um "anti herói" mutilado na guerra e cujo negócio esta a beira da falência. Tudo muda quando "a mocinha" Robin Elacott é enviada por engano para trabalhar no escritório do Cormoran e ela começa a auxilia-lo nos casos.

Os mistérios são SEMPRE violentos,com uso de linguagem "pesada" e com discussões de background sobre temas polêmicos. Gosto muito dessa combinação pois passa a sensação de realidade - a história é fictícia mas poderia tranquilamente ser real!

Eu comprei esse livro em Dublin e por isso a leitura foi em inglês (tenho que dizer que ler em inglês esse livro proporcionou um envolvimento melhor na história porque me senti mais contextualizada, já que a história se passa em Londres e tal).

A história: a narrativa inicia com uma entrega inesperada no escritório do detetive particular Cormoran Strike. Um pacote, contendo uma perna decepada, foi encaminhado para a Robin. Não há remetente e o entregador estava usando capacete.
      Se não bastasse o susto, diversos questionamentos borbulham "quem" e "por que" mandariam uma perna para ela.
      A policia esta investigando, os jornais estão em cima do escritório, os clientes começam a sumir desconfiados da situação divulgada e a relação profissional entre Cormoran e Robin esta sendo testada. A vida pessoal dos personagens esta um caus.
      Para saber como a história acaba só lendo o livro ^^ hehe

O que há de melhor: A narrativa desse livro mudou um pouco em relação aos livros anteriores - e acho que foi para melhor. Na verdade acho que esse foi o melhor livro da série e, considerando que eu gostei muito de todos os livros, esse tipo de afirmação significa muito.
        A razão de considerá-lo melhor esta relacionado com o maior foco que é dado para as questões pessoais tanto do Cormoran quanto da Robin. Fala-se muito sobre o que eles viveram no passado - até porque o caso que eles investigam no livro envolve ambos - e também sobre os problemas que ambos estão vivendo na atualidade.
        Lógico que resolver o caso é extremamente importante mas foi dada a mesma importância na abordagem sobre os sentimentos e pensamentos dos personagens nas diversas circunstancias adversas que se passam ao longo da história. Isso me envolveu muito mais na história pq não era só a justiça de punir o criminoso mas também havia a vontade de que os personagens resolvessem seus problemas e fossem felizes - pq a essa altura você já se sente amigo dos personagens xD

Sobre o  caso  do livro: foi muito interessante o desenvolvimento da investigação e eu admito que fiquei diversas vezes em dúvida sobre qual seria o desfecho e como sair dos becos que a investigação acaba estagnando. A frustração dos personagens virou minha frustração hahahhaha

O trabalho do Autor (Autora) nesse livro foi sensacional! Todas as informações que eram fornecidas ao longo de quase todo o livro tornavam IMPOSSÍVEL identificar o assassino - deve ter dado um trabalho pensar em como dar informações tão... desnorteadoras.

O que não gostei: a solução do mistério ficou MUITO a la "mistérios scooby doo" - em que a Velma brotava do nada com a resolução do caso e cabou. Admito que me deixou meio frustrada.
        Como não quero mandar spoiler não vou desenvolver essa questão do desfecho do livro mas não posso deixar de fazer a crítica de que poderia ter sido melhor trabalhado o raciocínio que o Cormoran fez para chegar na solução pq, da forma que ficou, por mais que eu tenha gostado MUITO da descoberta e tudo mais ficou meio solto. Não dá para ver o que fez dar o "estalo".

Bom, é isso.

Se você não leu os livros anteriores da série mas ficou com vontade de ler esse, é possível sem prejuízo na compreensão do caso, porque os casos de cada livro são independentes, mas isso pode prejudicar a compreensão sobre alguns aspectos da vida particular do protagonista - Cormoran Strike - e a relação dele com sua parceira Robin Elacott, e que se tornam vitais para completa compreensão da história.

RECOMENDADO para aqueles que adoram um mistério policial!

Hair: maintenance

First of all, I want to inform you that i will not test new brands of hair dye until the end of February because here in Brazil is in the middle of the summer and my hair always became drier in this season. 

In addition, dying my hair would be a waste of time and money because the color fade away too fast when you need to wash the hair all the time (i really go to much to the beach and pool so...) Since i explained all about my ginger plans for the summer (or none plans for it), the object of that posts and the following ones will be comments about the new products that I bought in my trip! Some of them i've already used in other moments but there are a lot of new testing and all for this year. \o/

In that first hair-post of the year, I will talk about mine maintenance schedule since i came back from my eurotrip. Its a combination of wella and john frieda.

The products are: wella brillance (shampoo and mask) and John Frieda smooth control (shampoo / conditioner / mask wella smooth control).
Since the journey I've been trying to control my frizzy hair. I think what made it look like so bad it was all the wind (making knots in it) and the excessive use of the hairdryer, without proper care during my trip. (crying) As I had trouble finding good quality products there, I was washing the hair for 20 days with pantene (now, crying a river xD). 

Nothing against pantene people, but that brand make test in animals and just dont work with my hair. I bought it because it was the least worst option I found in supermarkets x.x Than I found a lot of john frieda and Aussie products *.* The prices were really good and there were a lot of promo like "by 3 and the cheaper one is for free" - every girl get MAD with that kind of promo! 
s2 I took the belly of misery (brasilian expression that means i was craving for good hair products).
Since then, I have been using the smooth control and have to say that my hair is another! I've used two other lines (full repair and radiant red) from John Frieda and I'm really satisfacted! In the coming months I will talk about that other products (since bought it again ^^)

First time i used John Frieda Smooth control.

John Frieda Forever Smooth: The brand recommend to control the frizz with a treatment that makes the wires healthy from the inside out. The change in wire texture and even the hair behavior in general is noticeable. Besides, the hair 's with an incredible shine! Wella Straight intensive mask: has the same proposal smooth control line and i'm using it with the shampoo and conditioner of johhn frieda. The mask is white and the consistency is really great, so you dont need a lot of product to cover all your hair. The combination is being a success and my hair is completely changed.

Wella Brilliance:

I've been using wella brilliance (shampoo and moisturizing mask) since October (interspersed with wella enrich lasting up to now) and really think my hair does not fade whit with washings - almost a miracle! Besides, I feel that the cupper collor is already vibrant even after all the washing/sun/sea water exposition. In fact, the effect of the product is clear considering that I dyed my hair two months ago, have washed it almost every day in the last 15 days, but the color is still very vibrant. \o/

Use of goods: I intersperse the use of products - that is - every time I wash I use a line - and I DO NOT hydrate every time I wash , but in a moment gives no effect. I try to hydrate a maximum of 2x per week. When I hydrate, I put the mask after using shampoo and conditioner before . I think I said this in another post but its okay strengthen : do not put the mask of hydration after using the conditioner because it closes the hair cuticles , making the mask does not penetrate the wires and thus not the real occurs hydration. Anyway, Thats all folks!

Up until!. Meanwhile, at the beach or pool , remember to protect your wires. Use leave in with sunscreen , do not stay too long with sweaty hair ( remember that sweat dries out the hair! ) And hydrate at least once a week ! Do not forget to spend sunscreen cuz no use beautiful hair and skin peeling ;)

Cabelo: manutenção

Primeiramente, informo que não testarei nenhuma tinta até o fim de Fevereiro porque o verão chegou e não estou afim de detonar (ainda mais) o meu cabelo com o ressecamento de tinta. Além disso, para quem vai muito a praia/piscina/exposição ao sol joga o dinheiro da tinta no lixo porque o cabelo desbota na velocidade da luz.

Esclarecida a questão ruiva, o objeto dos próximos posts são críticas em relação aos novos (e velhos) produtos que eu venho usando para manter os fios saudáveis - ou, pelo menos, com um aspecto menos destruído xD

Nesse primeiro post de cabelos do ano vou falar sobre a dobradinha: wella e john frieda. Eu venho intercalando a linha brillance (shampoo e máscara) com a linha  smooth control (shampoo/condicionador/máscara da wella smooth control).

Desde a viagem eu venho tentando controlar meus fios cheioos de frizz. Acabou que eu tenho a sensação que o frio e o excesso de uso do secador, sem os devidos cuidados, detonaram HORRORES meu cabelo. (todos chora)


Como tive dificuldade para encontrar produtos de boa qualidade lá, fiquei lavando o cabelo por 20 dias com pantene (todas chora pesado agora). Nada contra pantene gente, mas testa em animais e não faz bem pro meu cabelo, mas era a opção menos pior que encontrei nos supermercados x.x

Foi quando encontrei um montaaao de produtos do john frieda e da aussie por preços TÃO melhores que os que encontramos no Brasil s2 Tirei a barriga da miséria e retornei os tratamentos.

Desde então venho utilizando o smooth control e tenho que dizer que meu cabelo é outro! Já usei 2 outras linhas (full repair e radiant red) e gostei muito! Nos próximos meses devo fazer comentários dessas linhas (já que comprei de novo ^^)

A proposta do smooth control são fios mais disciplinados e menos influenciados pelo frizz a partir do tratamento do fio de dentro para fora.

É perceptível a mudança na textura do fio e mesmo do comportamento do cabelo em geral. Além de mais comportado, o cabelo tá com um brilho incrível!

A máscada da Wella Straight intensive mask tem a mesma proposta da linha smooth control e por isso to usando elas conjugadas.

A combinação esta sendo um sucesso e meu cabelo logo na primeira vez que usei mudou completamente.

Venho usando o shampoo e a máscara hidratante desde outubro (sim, intercalando com a enrich ta durando até agora) e realmente acho que meu cabelo não desbota nadinha com as lavagens, quando uso essa linha, e sinto a cor mais vibrante mesmo (pessoal tem até comentado que a cor do cabelo esta muito bonita - admito que tô até chocada com esse tipo de comentário levando em conta que estou lavando o cabelo quase todo dia por causa do calor).

Na verdade o efeito do produto é bem claro se considerar que eu pintei o cabelo há quase 2 meses, tenho lavado quase todo dia e, por mais desbotado que esteja, a cor continua bem vibrante.

O uso dos produtos:
eu intercalo o uso dos produtos - isto é - cada vez que eu lavo eu uso uma linha - sendo que eu NÃO hidrato toda vez que eu lavo, senão daqui a pouco não dá efeito nenhum. Eu procuro hidratar no máximo 2x por semana.

Quando eu hidrato, eu coloco a máscara após o uso de shampoo e antes do condicionador. Acho que já falei isso em outro post mas não tem problema reforçar: não coloque a máscara de hidratação após o uso do condicionador porque este fecha as cutículas do cabelo, fazendo com que a máscara não penetre nos fios e, assim, não ocorre a real hidratação.

Enfim, é isso.

Enquanto isso, na praia ou na piscina, lembre de proteger os seus fios. Use leave in com protetor solar, não fique muito tempo com cabelo suado (lembre-se que suor resseca o cabelo!) e hidrate pelo menos uma vez por semana! Não esqueça de passar filtro solar pq não adianta cabelo bonito e pele descascando ;) 

Eurotrip: some tips before the travel

    Starting this year with posts about my backpack and hope it helps someone that want to plan a trip to 2016.

    To begin:

1) Forget that idea to buy round-trip ticket in the mad because if u are backpacking mean you will end your backpack in place different than arrived, meaning you will be required to spend more on transport to return to the originating airport (and is more tiring).

    I ended up buying round trip by Air france - direct flight Rio x Paris (2,800.00 reais/ 700 euros). What forced me to buy another a plane ticket to Munich.

   I discovered is that, despite being good buy ticket in advance, buy well in advance is also bad because the price ends up not being really good because you wont take it in sale.

2) Time of transfers: I made a ridiculous shit on purchases of my airline tickets in transfers between cities and ended up having to sleep in the airport 2x - very crap experience even!

    So what I recommend ALWAYS: if you give avoid going by plane because airports are often far from the city center and just you at the mercy of the operation of public transport to get there (taxi is unthinkable!)

     Also, choose to travel around 20h / 21h of the night because you do not lose the day in place and have time to go calmly to the airport and arrive at a reasonable hour in the destination city without any problem getting to the new hostel.

     I suggest this time 'cause most flights take 1h / 1h and a half, but ATTENTION with time zone and check the hours of operation of trains and subways! My experience here refers ONLY in cities that I’ve been (Paris, Munich, Prague, Dresden, Berlin London, Dublin)! 

Another reason I recommend this time (which may seem late) is cuz if you are a backpacker with a gigantic backpack like mine, you will need to dispatched it and some companies demand  2 hours in advance to do it.

    So, for a flight at 9 p.m.,  you will have to be at the airport 07 p.m. Considering, also, the travel time to the airport (usually 1h) and that you probably will need to come back to the hostel to take your backpack (30 min to go to the hostel), your day's activities should end about 17.30 - very reasonable, right?

3) Planning: If your idea is good use of your time and save money you NEED to plan.

     Do researches about the destinations and plan routes. Buy the tickets that connect one city to another in advance to get better prices and also to be able to choose the best means of transport.

    Book hostels near the train or subway stations. Trust me, no matter how marvelous is you backpack, you will be tired and it can hurt your shoulders/back/neck,  so you should not spend too much energy carrying it! It makes all the difference in life not having to move much from their "home" on the back.

       Search for the rides you want to do checking holidays, days and hours of operation and price. 

      And save money to buy water and doing the laundry! I forgot totally to plan that and thank god I always expect to spend more money with food that I really do so the difference cover that kind of waste that I didn’t think about before. 

#ATTETTION! There are days when some places are cheaper or for free. Students (and in some places people under 26 years) pay reduced rate! 

     In museums there is always a day that the opening hours will later - the trick is to streamline the schedule making the day "useful" longer putting this museum as last activity of the day.

4) Another important pre trip thing: search, buy and test your backpack. I tested my 3 times before the trip and I think it would have been nice to test more pq only with handling that we learn how to best arrange his backpack in order to facilitate the achievement of important things. Research to see the pack that best framed in my profile was intense but tb've talked about this in another post. 

5) Buying currency: it is something very important and can harm your backpack. This year we had a huge variation in the values ​​of currencies which required a redesign of my trip - the euro rose from 3.40 in April to 4.20 in August (when I got desperate and bought all the currency I planned to buy at once).

    Worst of all is that the currency became more expensive in the following months, which increased the price of things I had to buy with credit card.

    So, when you estimate how much you will spend in your trip, make sure that your are prepared for that kind of currency problem. In addition, there is great variation in the price of currencies depending on currency exchange. So I suggest using comparative price sites on the Internet to find the best prices.

6) Purchase tours and transfer-tickets before the trip: Another important thing (that I did wrong)  is trying to pay everything that you can before the trip starts (even if that gets  more expensive with credit card charges) because you will need to but less money and will be less susceptible to currency changes (expending less money in case the currency gets expensive).  

# Be smart: search for online tips - there are many useful sites that inform the average spending on accommodation, food and transportation.

    So guide your plans that way but be sure to confirm the websites of attractions the updated value tickets. The site I used was the quantocustaviajar.com and really enjoyed it!

7) Travel insurance: I suggest buying the insurance with the plane tickets, if you dont have those credit card insurance. If you didn’t buy it at once,  look for a good company and check if it covers what Europe immigration demand.

I bought mine insurance in the internet at Mondia. It was an European package covering the requirements for immigration in the European Union, and cost 415.00 reais (about 100 euros).

8) Finally - what to buy before: plug adapters, medicine, soft towels (unless you plan to rent towel - something I find expensive for this kind of trip), bag-money and if I remember more things I will put in other posts xD Phew! Huge post! But believe me and not miss anything this little list! Up until!
